Milan to the Lake: Methods by Road

Taxi Service | Taxis should be available from just outside the airport doors. Coach and bus transfers are also available at each of the airports. Please note that service information changes regularly so checking details right up to and on the day of your travel to Italy is advised.

Car Rental | Hire cars are available, and are a great way to explore the surrounding areas. Please note that not all accommodation on Lake Como have available parking onsite or directly outside. Public parking is available in many of the larger towns but this can be both extremely limited and expensive. Please note that when finding parking on Lake Como, blue lines are paid parking, white lines are free parking, and yellow lines are residential parking. I’d recommend keeping 1-2€ coins on hand to pay for parking, however I also recommend downloading the app EasyPark, which can now be used in many parking areas.

Milan to the Lake: Methods by Rail

Malpensa airport to Lake Como | Malpensa airport is linked to the lake by rail. Firstly take a train from the airport to Milan Central station (terminate and change train) then continue your journey by rail to the lake, arriving at either of the lakes main southern cities, Como or Lecco depending on your final destination location. If you are staying on the eastern side of the lake then you will require a train to Lecco and then continue your journey. If you are staying on the western side of the lake then you will require a train to Como and then continue your journey.

Linate airport to Lake Como | Linate airport is not directly linked to the lake by rail. A bus service will take you from the airport to Milan Central train station. From Milan Central train station you can continue your journey by rail to Lake Como, arriving at either of the lakes main southern cities, Como or Lecco depending on your final destination location. If you are staying on the eastern side of the lake then you will require a train to Lecco and then continue your journey. If you are staying on the western side of the lake then you will require a train to Como and then continue your journey.

Bergamo airport to Lake Como | Bergamo airport is not directly linked to the lake by rail. A bus service will take you from the airport to Bergamo train station. From Bergamo train station you can continue your journey by rail to the lake, arriving at either of the lakes main southern cities, Como or Lecco depending on your final destination location.
